About The Position

The Electronic Filing Legal Assistant (E-filer) is responsible for the electronic filing of all applicable pleadings for our Electronic Filing States, which currently include Colorado, Kentucky, New Jersey, Indiana, Minnesota, and portions of Ohio, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee. This position involves a variety of pleading review and handling, providing experience in multiple states' litigation processes. The role requires great attention to detail, as E-filers review each file to determine whether to pursue an action and perform quality checks on documents to ensure no obvious errors in submission. E-filers are a vital part of the firm, ensuring monthly performance for clients by maximizing the number of filings submitted to the court. They provide crucial feedback on submission and document quality as the last line of defense before filing. This position requires strong data entry, Excel/Microsoft Suite experience, and online docket experience is preferred. The firm provides on-site training and emphasizes teamwork. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Prior legal knowledge or experience is a plus and will be considered in determination of starting wage

Responsibilities

  • Electronic Filing of all applicable pleadings for Electronic Filing States.
  • Review and handle a variety of pleadings.
  • Review each file to determine whether to pursue an action.

  • Maximize the amount of filings submitted to the court for review and approval.
