Electronic Design Engineer

About The Position

This role involves assisting with the development, design, testing, and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft. The engineer will apply electrical engineering theory and use electronic test equipment to test and troubleshoot avionics/electrical modules or systems. Responsibilities include modeling and simulating electronic circuits, designing PCB layouts, modifying and maintaining programmable logic designs in FPGAs and CPLDs, and preparing engineering certification and functional test reports.

Requirements

  • Proficient in analog and digital circuit design
  • Software programming experience with C programming language
  • Design Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Verilog or VHDL
  • Familiarity with the application of aerospace standards (DO-254, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461) or similar industry standards.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree with a Major in Electrical Engineering.
  • Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired knowledge of control systems and embedded processor design
  • Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development, design, testing and certification documentation for new or modified printed circuit board modules for aircraft
  • Apply electrical engineering theory and the operation of electronic test equipment to test and troubleshoot avionics / electrical modules or systems
  • Model and simulate electronic circuits using SPICE software
  • Design printed circuit board layouts using Altium design software
  • Modify and maintain programmable logic designs in FPGAs and CPLDs
  • Prepare engineering certification reports to document system designs that meet the requirements of certification authorities
  • Prepare functional test documents to verify proper operation of electronic assemblies
