About The Position

The Electronic Control Technician (ECT) installs, calibrates, troubleshoots, and maintains control instrumentation systems used in beet and sugar processing. The role includes working with a wide variety of instrumentation and control systems throughout the Factory, including control networks, distributed control software, and associated hardware. The technician optimizes control-loop performance and works closely with operations to understand operating parameters, make effective maintenance interventions, and advise on process adjustments.

Requirements

• At least a two-year technical degree.
• At least three years of instrument shop and electronic experience in all required instrumentation fields.
• Pass required skills and aptitude tests and a safety screen.
• Computer literacy and strong keyboarding skills.
• Ability to navigate a Windows operating environment and use word-processing software.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install control networks and program Delta V and RS III distributed control software and associated hardware.
• Optimize control-loop performance to support efficient operation of processing systems.
• Work with operations to understand operating parameters and ensure maintenance interventions are appropriate and effective.
• Advise operations on process adjustments so operating practices can be changed accordingly.
• Understand equipment and system operating principles and fundamentals.
• Install, set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation and control systems throughout the Factory.
