About The Position

The University Center at ETSU is seeking an Audiovisual (AV) Technician to set up and manage sound and video equipment for live events such as meetings, sports games, business conventions, and concerts. This role involves soundboard mixing, video playback, lighting enhancement, and coordinating graphics for seamless event execution. The ideal candidate should be composed, self-motivated, and adaptable, capable of thriving in a technical support environment.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED
Two years of related experience
Associate’s Degree or higher in audiovisual technology or a related field, such as digital media.
Ability to service electronic systems.
Able to complete repairs and or calibrate.
Able to read diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for repair and diagnostic information.
Ability to inspect and install electronic systems.
Ability to evaluate the performance of equipment and equipment vs. recommended purchase specifications.
Able to review requests for new equipment.
Able to provide assistance for facility users.
Able to operate television equipment, video/audio equipment, and other equipment in video and television production facilities.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree
Licensing certificates like the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
