The Franceschi Microscopy & Imaging Center (FMIC) is a centralized research and educational facility housed in the College of Arts and Sciences and available to all Washington State University (WSU) researchers for the observation, imaging, and ultrastructural study of biological and non-biological specimens. Founded in 1962, the Center is one of the oldest in the United States. The Center provides a safe, fully-equipped laboratory complex for specimen preparation for both light and electron microscopy. Some experience in electron or confocal microscopy is expected, but we encourage applicants from the life sciences and engineering/material science disciplines to apply. We are looking for an Electron Microscope Technician to join our team. You will help and teach users, develop new methods, and take care of our equipment. The FMIC has a long history of providing research support and student training.
