About The Position

Charter Manufacturing is seeking an Electromechanical Technician for their Milwaukee, WI location. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and resolve issues using technical documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position is part of the Electrical Maintenance team and operates on the first shift.

Requirements

5+ years of industrial maintenance experience OR technical degree in a related field OR journeyman’s card
Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and code books
Strong understanding of electrical theory, controls, and codes
Experience with line setups, inspections, and electrical testing equipment
Solid math skills (fractions, percentages, measurements)
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly
Ability to meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

Experience with PLCs and drives (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
Knowledge of AC/DC motors, HVAC systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems
Experience with welding/torch equipment and precision measuring tools
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Problem-solving mindset with a willingness to learn

Responsibilities

Maintain and troubleshoot electromechanical equipment using hand tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
Diagnose and resolve issues using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Support continuous improvement initiatives across operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep production running efficiently
Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE
Participate in ongoing training and skill development
