BETA is seeking a passionate, outside-the-box thinker who will own the electromechanical technical aspects of our Ground Support Equipment Products for the Production team. This includes mechanical, electrical, and digital communications of the fully designed product and have the ability to debug products that are in process to identify manufacturing defects causing failures during the assembly process and help implement process improvements to prevent the failure in the future. You will work with a bright and motivated cross-functional team and deliver turnkey solutions that increase production efficiency and quality. Your level of involvement will begin with the design phase of new programs all the way to stable, reliable production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline
  • 2-5+ years of professional experience in electro-mechanical assembly and test processes
  • Strong foundation of problem-solving skills (electrical, mechanical, and CANBus)
  • Understanding of design for assembly and lean manufacturing
  • Exceptional project management and leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written internal and external communication skills
  • Able to read and understand Engineering drawings
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically or internationally

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing experience
  • Exposure to rapid manufacturing growth and preferably startup experience
  • Understanding of design for manufacture, design for assembly analyses
  • Certification/Certificate in Lean Manufacturing
  • Project Planning, cross-function leader of teams involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented, and can prioritize workload with minimal supervision
  • PLEX ERP system experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations regarding manufacturing personnel training and equipment requirements
  • Create and improve assembly processes and documentation from initial release through the entire product lifecycle
  • Work to meet quality and productivity goals including building products if necessary
  • Work in conjunction with design engineering during the design process to identify improvements that aid in the assembly and test of new products
  • Design and build tooling to aid with the build process and increase quality and efficiency
  • Support Supplier quality by effectively documenting defects and leading RCCA’s
  • Lead continuous improvement implementation and productivity improvement
  • Promotes an atmosphere of excellence, high sense of urgency, high energy and exceptional communication
  • Understand UL/CE certification requirements and ensure that we comply throughout the build process
  • Support production metric creation and deployment
