Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer - Level 3/4 to join the Vehicle Engineering Directorate within Western Region Engineering. This position is located onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM with 1 year of relevant experience (for Level 3)
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in STEM with 4 years of relevant experience (for Level 4)
Must have active SCI access at the time of application or an active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company, prior to the start date
Experience with mechanisms design, Electromechanical or opto-mechanical
Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA V5/3DExp industry CAD software

Nice To Haves

M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM technical discipline
Experience with the design, development, analysis, and verification of moving mechanical assemblies (e.g. mechanisms or electro-mechanical products) for space applications
Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
Experience working on Special Access Programs
Active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

Perform Electromechanical engineering on multiple projects through all phases of development and manufacturing
Develop technical specifications, conceptual designs, trade studies, detail designs, procedures, assembly, testing, and reports
Assist with technical data packages including fabrication, source control, and assembly drawings in accordance with internal drawing standards
Perform engineering analysis to validate design solutions with respect to technical performance, environmental durability, manufacturability, schedule and cost
Support the on-time execution of development programs by proactively mitigating risks and pursuing opportunities
Assist with internal design reviews, provide, and incorporate feedback from reviewers and management
Employ strong interpersonal and communication skills while contributing to an integrated product team
Demonstrate accountability to obtain results and contribute to organizational objectives
