Become a Key Player as an Electromechanical Engineer II You will support the design, development, and testing of induction and permanent magnet motors that improve product performance and reliability. You’ll work with the department SME, manufacturing teams, and customers to deliver validated motor designs and test plans in an onsite setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical discipline
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in electric motor design and development
  • Hands-on teardown, test, and hardware experience
  • Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor)
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic theory and motor design principles
  • Experience with motor simulation tools (FEA/CFD)
  • Ability to interpret and create detailed engineering drawings applying ASME Y14.5M
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • General machine shop experience
  • Experience in development of military or aerospace equipment
  • Understanding of military specifications, environmental specifications, and test specifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, create mechanical drawings, and test electric motors operating up to 70,000 rpm for fans, pumps, and compressors
  • Perform electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical analysis using FEA/CFD simulation tools
  • Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation
  • Develop motor performance specifications and validation test plans
  • Conduct performance testing: efficiency, torque, speed, thermal, vibration, and noise
  • Analyze and optimize motor efficiency and design for manufacturability
  • Support assembly, repair, and testing of development and production hardware
  • Write technical reports and present designs to peers, engineers, and customers
