  • Evaluate plant requests and determine potential impacts on product performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance.
  • Support technical resolution of recurring issues in manufacturing, assembly, documentation, or product configuration.
  • Ensuring changes or deviations do not create unintended consequences for other plants, product variants, or customer applications.
  • Creation of multiple component/assembly solutions to envision product concepts. Development to be synchronized with changes/advances to existing product releases. This includes manipulation of appropriate CAD software.
  • Assist in verification of design to performance requirements. This activity includes participation in test plan, results analysis, and the feedback of appropriate design parameters back into component/assembly design.
  • Interface with manufacturing organization to ensure that a well-optimized component/assembly is developed from fabrication/assembly concerns (Tolerance Analysis).
  • Develop electronic and hard copy records that conform to internal standards and support the development, implementation and maintenance stages of the projects/products. Examples include up to date BOM (part number, description, material, processes, where used), Component Drawings (geometry, functional dimensioning, process callout), and Project General Files
  • Prepare instructional/operational information as required.
  • Prepare preliminary sketches or diagrams reflecting basic design concept. Makes mathematical calculations and adjustments in drawings and specifications.
  • Recommends changes or modifications as appropriate to meet manufacturability, functionality and measurability requirements.
