About The Position

As a Joint Services Electromagnetic Spectrum Subject Matter Expert, you will be working with the military services in assessing and managing their use of the electromagnetic spectrum for national defense. If you have experience in Electronic Warfare, this is the position for you. You understand the nuances of an invisible domain of warfare. You use your skills to think bigger and push farther, solving complex problems. We’re looking for someone like you to help create solutions for missions that keep our nation safe. You’ll provide subject matter expertise to support strategic analysis and planning efforts for Joint spectrum operations. Your sharp communication and analysis skills help convey important details to inform senior-level decision-makers via background papers, briefings, and other analyses. You leverage your knowledge and experience to provide research and analysis of various national security policies, military strategies, vulnerability assessments, threat and intelligence assessments, integration of partner nation capabilities, as well as close coordination with other Service Components, research labs, industry, and Joint Staff. You’ll identify operational areas of concern, areas requiring additional focus, and innovative new concepts of employment. Provides support and participate in the forums and activities associated with Electromagnetic Compatibility and capabilities across spectrum environments. Supports the DoD’s global mission requirements with alignment of Joint Staff operational requirements. Maintains a database of frequency requests and assignments and performs reviews and updates. Addresses resolving frequency interference from reports and maintaining a incident database. Prepares and forwards formatted frequency requests to the appropriate military or civilian agency for coordination and approval and maintain collaboration with external customers. Performs frequency planning, selection, and de-conflicting using automated systems.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Associate and 10+ years of relevant experience or BA and 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • AA and 10+ years of relevant experience or BA and 8+ years of relevant experience or MS and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of any of the following software: Spectrum Certification System (SCS), Equipment Location Certification Information database (EL-CID).Spectrum XXI, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online (HNSWDO), or Stepstone.

Nice To Haves

  • Military experience in an electronic warfare specialty service, such as U.S. Army Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) or experience as a Signals or Communications officer
  • Experience coordinating with other DoD entities, including the Joint Staff, Service Components, and non-DoD organizations, such as DHS and the Department of State
  • Graduate of the Inter-service Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) or The Army Spectrum Management Course
  • JCIDS experience/DAU training.
