Requirements

  • Experience in electrical hardware design
  • Knowledge of component selection, power electronics, signal integrity, thermal management, and/or electromagnetic compatibility for aerospace/defense applications
  • Hands on experience with eCAD tools – Altium Designer, Xpedition, Zuken, or similar
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with ethernet networking protocols (IEEE 802.3)
  • Basic programming/scripting: Python, MATLAB, and/or C.
  • Strong laboratory skills – comfortable with multimeters, oscilloscopes, network & spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written/oral communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with phases of product lifecycle (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, MRR, and TRR)

Responsibilities

  • Develop system requirements, perform trade studies, and propose architecture solutions for communications payloads and flight qualified hardware.
  • Capture schematics, select components, generate Bill of Materials, and guide PCB layout using eCAD tools (Altium, Xpedition, Zuken, etc.). Support cable design and compliance with NHA interfaces through functional and environmental checkouts.
  • Build and test prototype boards, design and run design verification tests, and analyze results with lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
  • Partner with RF, Mechanical, Software Developers, Test Technicians, and Program Management teams to ensure schedule, cost, and performance targets are met.
  • Produce clear technical reports, design reviews, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
