About The Position

Nestlé USA is seeking a multi-skilled Electro Mechanical Technician responsible for proactively maintaining equipment in a safe manner. This role involves identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on all factory equipment, as well as performing scheduled preventative maintenance to reduce performance losses and enhance equipment reliability. Additionally, the technician will contribute to building operator technical skills and capabilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
2 years of equivalent work experience AND/OR a two-year technical degree in a maintenance-related area (e.g., Maintenance Technical/Mechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, Electronics Technology).
Able to work off-shifts, weekends, and extended shifts (e.g., 10 hrs., 12 hrs.).
Mechanical Skills: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical drive systems, Utility Systems (air, steam, refrigeration etc.).
Electrical Skills: Knowledge and ability to interpret National Electrical Code, Power Systems and Distribution (up to 480V), Control Systems (Basic PLC / hardwire logic circuits knowledge, Motor Control Circuits, Safety Circuits), Instrumentation and Field Devices (Analog and discrete devices).
Knowledge and use of test equipment (amp meter, megger, etc.).
Familiar with CMMS and Production Workflow/Control systems.
Principle of operation.
Read and interpret machine, electrical, and facility drawings.
Operate, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial systems.
Obtain and maintain certifications required by Nestle policies (e.g., Arc Flash, LOTO, PTWs).
Welding, fabrication, and machining skills.

Ability to demonstrate safe practices and tools for while working with low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities

Identify defects and execute preventative and predictive maintenance plans.
Work in various plant areas including process, primary and secondary packaging, and material handling/storage equipment.
Maintain power distribution systems (up to 480 volts).
Perform basic PLC I/O hardware troubleshooting, motor, sensor, and drive diagnostics, and basic electrical circuit analysis.
Understand basic device communication networks.
Maintain mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical drive systems.
Utilize troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to maintain, optimize, and improve production equipment, focusing on safety, quality, and cost.
Review and optimize maintenance plans to enhance equipment reliability.
Use, validate, and redline engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical).
Understand factory key processes, including Industrial Services and Quality.
Coach operators on adjustments and changeovers for new and existing processes.
Transfer operational tasks such as lubrication and inspection to operators.
Build technical procedures and train other technical resources.
Access and utilize the CMMS system (SAP-AMM) to accurately document all maintenance activities.
Identify and create work orders.
Perform time entry and provide technical feedback on work performed.
Improve maintenance plans and provide feedback to the Maintenance Planner regarding line performance and improvement opportunities.
Review required spare parts to ensure accurate bill of materials.
