About The Position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician I is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of both electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment. This position focuses on developing foundational skills in equipment maintenance, motor controls, mechanical systems, and basic troubleshooting under the guidance of senior technicians. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring and circuit protection.
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic testing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in PLCs, automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Nice To Haves

  • 0–2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical roles.
  • Technical school training or coursework in electrical, mechanical, or electro-mechanical systems preferred.
  • Exposure to conveyor systems, motor controls, or basic automation is a plus.
  • Interest in developing skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, or fabrication.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in wiring, maintaining, and troubleshooting DC, single-phase, and three-phase motors.
  • Support installation and alignment of mechanical components such as conveyors, belts, pulleys, and rollers.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including lubrication and inspections of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic electrical control circuits (e.g., 0–10 VDC, 4–20 mA, PNP/NPN).
  • Conduct basic mechanical inspections to identify worn or failing components and report findings.
  • Support maintenance of chain drives, tensioners, and lubrication systems through minor adjustments and part replacement.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of safety circuits and protective electrical devices.
  • Perform entry-level testing and inspection of motors and equipment using appropriate tools.
  • Support basic pneumatic system checks, including hose inspections and filter changes.
  • Help document maintenance activities, update schematics, and reference equipment manuals or diagrams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and escalate complex problems appropriately.
  • Participate in training and mentorship opportunities to develop electrical and mechanical skills.
