About The Position

Multi-skilled electromechanical technician with primary responsibilities to maintain equipment in a proactive manner, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical & process controls abnormalities on all food production-& packaging related equipment’s. Perform all preventative maintenance as scheduled to eliminate unplanned stoppages, increase asset intensity, and build operator technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Two-year Technical Degree in Maintenance related areas such as Industrial Maintenance and Mechatronics or Electromechanical Maintenance, Robotics, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance and electrical/controls experience is preferred
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment is required; food industry experience is preferred
  • Creative problem-solving skills & logical to perform equipment improvements and enhancements to optimize production with positive contribution to all key deliverables of safety, quality, and cost.
  • May require adapting to internal & external professional certification, skill development training courses per company needs
  • A strong commitment to continuous improvement and competent development
  • Demonstrate necessary skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, process controls & PLC systems
  • Understand how automated equipment and its components work.
  • Properly use mechanical and electrical tools and diagnostic tools & instruments like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters
  • Understand the operating principles and function of the electrical control and power components and circuits utilized in automated equipment.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and diagnose industrial circuits used in control and distribution.
  • Ability to be self-managed, scheduling and performing work unsupervised.
  • Reliable, motivated, dedicated, and committed to a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset & able to work independently without supervision
  • Good communication skills with operators, other trades and all plant personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Installation, maintenance, and repair of complex equipment that integrates electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in electrical control systems, motor starters, VFD, drives, motors, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Service/rebuild & repair of production & packaging related equipment including extensive knowledge in the principles and practical application of pneumatics, hydraulics, power transmission systems like chain & belt drives, bushings/bearings/shafts, gearboxes, pumps, valves, fasteners, seals, solenoids, mechanical fabrication, and rigging.
  • Service and repair of production related mechanical & electrical equipment including knowledge of power distribution and lighting systems, AC/DC motors, pneumatic systems like cylinders, pneumatic & air flow control valves, process line controls & devices, hydraulics fluid control and distribution, electronic controls and instrumentation, variable frequency drives, sensors, transducers, safety relays and basic PLC knowledge/ interpretation with field instruments capabilities.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe work practices and portable tools for while working with low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and components.
  • Preventive/Predictive Maintenance - Responsible for executing planned work schedule as assigned and creating follow up notifications/improvement work orders in SAP/AMM and/or Prometheus system to ensure cost effective and reliable equipment performance.
  • Understand predictive maintenance technologies like vibration analysis, vibration & temperature sensors, oil analysis, steam trap & air leak monitoring using advanced monitoring tools
  • Completion of all assigned work orders in a timely manner following company standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical training to Operators as part of our NCE/TPM/IWG practices & systems to ensure knowledge transfer and autonomy in operations using Centerlining, CIL system
  • Participate in problem solving tools such as BDA (Breakdown analysis) and GSTD (Go-See Think Do)
  • Review maintenance standards PM, Lead continuous update of Maintenance plans/procedures, Equipment spare part & BOM review, PM optimization efforts
  • Participating in spare parts min/max levels & obsolescence reviews to keep equipment & lines running at highest level of reliability & optimize technical stockroom working capital
  • Capability to follow work order standards and full adherence to all Nestle & statutory safety permits, facility LOTO , OSHA & GMP requirements while executing tasks.
