About The Position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician ensures equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair. Equipment includes Fillers, Seamers, Pasteurizers, Sleevers, Packers, Palletizers, Conveyors, and Stretch Wrappers. Performs troubleshooting and repair of facilities and auxiliary equipment, such as Chillers, Air Compressors, Reverse Osmosis systems, Boilers, other water filtration equipment, and general plant maintenance. Works directly with machine Operators, Supervisors, and Preventative Maintenance Mechanics to resolve mechanical issues that arise during the shift. Proposes solutions to complex and reoccurring problems on production equipment to Management to resolve issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in a similar position
  • 4-6 years of experience managing projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
  • Experience with the following technologies: Variable frequency drive (VFD), servo drives, and servo motor.
  • Rotary equipment such as rotary press or filler.
  • Thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing.
  • Krones or Techniblend equipment.
  • HVAC, including chillers and/or air compressors.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting; electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for process and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient skills with precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
  • Will need to utilize a personal toolbox and personal basic tools.
  • Safety, continuous improvement, and solutions-driven mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree preferred in manufacturing, manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, manufacturing automation, or other similar manufacturing-related specialization.
  • 4-6 years of experience preferred in a Field or similar manufacturing environment
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or canning industries preferred.
  • Demonstrates adaptability by reacting appropriately to unexpected changes in situations or circumstances.
  • Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (mig, tig, or stick) preferred.
  • Skilled in the repair of variable frequency drives, servo motors, and controllers, communication systems (asi-bus, can-bus, profi-bus, ethernet), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules preferred.
  • Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of the plant or machine center.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at the facility
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with DrinkPAK’s defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems.
  • Work independently and with other team members to safely and timely complete repairs.
  • Keep alert for safety issues and escalate immediately.
  • May fill in for production operator, as needed.
  • Create and report repairs throughout the shift.
  • Complete required work order paperwork and document parts and material usage.
  • Understand and follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
  • Responds promptly and honor commitments to internal and external customers.
  • Make Recommend continuously improving policies, methods, procedures, and/or products.
  • Personal Protective Equipment is to be used where required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
