About The Position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 4 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance (specify equipment on your site). Acts as a senior material handling technician on all equipment installed at the Vandalia. OH site location. Aids and mentors lower-level employees. This role will require you to work 4:30 pm to 4:30 am on a rotating Panama shift. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrates senior-level expertise with 5-7 years of experience in a technical or specialty area.
  • Proven track record in the area of responsibility with successful demonstration of key tasks.
  • Strong customer-facing abilities, maintaining professional communication via email and in-person with onsite customer leadership, Dematic leadership, and technicians.
  • Leadership skills to guide projects, manage teams, and advise on day-to-day operations and tasks.
  • Physical capability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds, regularly bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head.
  • Ability to push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
  • Able to climb ladders and gangways safely, work in various environments (small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temps), endure noise, vibration, and long periods on concrete.
  • Strong PLC and electrical troubleshooting capabilities, ensuring our equipment runs smoothly and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or vocational technical training preferred, with specialized skill training/certification being a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including belt tracking, component adjustments, replacements, and lubrication.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures to ensure our systems run flawlessly.
  • Apply electrical test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve electrical circuitry issues.
  • Build and close work orders in our asset management system, recording labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
  • Troubleshoot conveyance problems, determining the resources needed to resolve them successfully.
  • Track and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for maintenance tasks.
  • Perform complex maintenance and equipment testing to verify they meet world-class specifications.
  • Train customers to operate our sophisticated equipment efficiently.
  • Respond to service calls, correcting equipment failures and faults promptly.
  • Identify and resolve problems as they occur, maintaining our reputation for outstanding service.
