This role works on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. The position is responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. The individual makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. They apply advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. The role leads the development of innovative principles and ideas and acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements. The position works under consultative direction, using independent judgment to accomplish objectives and develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. The role conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program.

Requirements

  • A fundamental understanding of aircraft design and construction principles.
  • The ability to effectively work with and support a multi-discipline team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, Quality Control, upper management, etc.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of installations related to Electro-Mechanical or Electrical Systems.
  • Practical hands-on aircraft repair experience and problem solving.
  • Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
  • Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Gulfstream engineering experience.
  • Gulfstream G500/G600/G650/G700/G800 experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Systems Schematics.
  • Experience using computer aided design tools such as CCD, CATIA V5, AutoCAD, or similar software used in design of aircraft electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with Airworthiness Authority regulations and showing compliance to such regulations with repairs and rework instructions in a post-production repair station environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Part 25 Certification for EWIS and methods of Component Qualification.
  • Knowledge in G500/G600/G650/G700/G800 Fly-by-wire Flight Controls a plus.
  • Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.
