About The Position

TransMaster Trailers is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding Engineering team. This role involves significant design work in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits. The position offers opportunities for growth, with the potential to lead projects as expertise develops. The engineer will also perform mechanical design tasks, utilize Solidworks for 3D design, generate manufacturing prints, and collaborate with various departments including manufacturing and sales.

Requirements

  • 2 or 4-year engineering/technical degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or similar.
  • Microsoft Office products expertise, specifically with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical circuits including relays, solenoids, push buttons, controls, fuses, lighting, switches, batteries, junction boxes, terminal connections, engine wiring harnesses, electric motors, wireless controls, and simple control systems.
  • Design hydraulic circuits including control valves, relief valves, check valves, poppet valves, cylinders, pumps, filters, accumulators, and hydraulic tanks.
  • Design pneumatic circuits including valves and components for air suspensions and air brakes.
  • Specify and design wireless remote systems.
  • Explore current and future possibilities with CAN bus logic control systems.
  • Assist project engineers and managers with trailer projects.
  • Perform basic mechanical design work and progress to advanced designs.
  • Potentially utilize finite element analysis (FEA) and other engineering calculations under senior engineer guidance.
  • Utilize Solidworks for 3D design of steel trailer structures.
  • Generate 2D assembly, fabrication, laser, brake, saw, machining, and other manufacturing prints from 3D designs.
  • Collaborate on the development of purchased part lists for trailer designs.
  • Calculate required steel and material lists.
  • Prepare assembly checklists.
  • Participate in the creation of engineering instructions for trailer repairs.
  • Assist in sales estimating/quoting efforts.
  • Participate in engineering design reviews.
  • Serve as a liaison with manufacturing to streamline feedback on drawings and designs, making recommendations or corrections as necessary.
