About The Position

The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing, and packaging electro-mechanical and electronic products according to work orders, engineering drawings, and manufacturing instructions. This role involves bench-level and shop-floor assembly of components, sub-assemblies, and completed units while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, ESD, and production requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and basic schematics
  • Basic computer skills for completing production and traceability documentation
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly
  • Ability to tolerate long periods of standing and/or walking
  • Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and climb as required
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions
  • Assemble electro-mechanical and electronic products according to blueprints, travelers, and build instructions
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly of components, hardware, fasteners, wiring, and sub-assemblies
  • Execute assembly builds in a timely manner in accordance with the production schedule
  • Work at a bench or on the shop floor to assemble electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Collect parts and hardware from inventory as needed and verify correct materials
  • Receive verbal or written instruction on priorities, schedules, and order changes
  • Set up daily work according to production schedules or supervisor’s direction
  • Use hand and power tools, including torque-controlled electric drills, wrenches, and basic measuring devices
  • Perform basic functional testing on assembled products to verify operation
  • Operate production and support equipment as required (test equipment, lift-assist devices, automated or semi-automated systems)
  • Rotate between workstations and cross-train to support other departments or processes as needed
  • Package finished products by work instructions and boxing requirements
  • Label all products and assemblies and complete required paperwork and production documentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist with general facility upkeep
  • Follow all safety, quality, and ESD protection standards as defined by company policy
  • Participate in assembly training sessions, team activities, SQCDMM meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
