We are located in Altamont, NY, and are looking to hire a full-time Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual who values customer service and has experience in a manufacturing environment. This position could work on the regular day shift from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. or on the 2nd shift which would include a 10% shift differential. Met Weld is looking to fill an Electrical and Mechanical Assembler position that requires Soldering and Assembly experience with a willingness to learn. The candidate must be willing to learn, have an electro-mechanical aptitude, ask questions, and adapt to completing different projects in a timely manner. Required to have the ability to understand engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.

Requirements

1 - 3 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
Soldering experience required.
Ability to understand engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and work instructions.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

Read and understand production drawings, assembly instructions, work orders, and sample assemblies. Receive verbal instructions regarding duty assignments.
Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
Mount assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel or printed wiring boards.
Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
Connect component lead wires to printed circuit or route and connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
Manufacture cables and wiring harnesses using copper wire, co-axial cable, twin-axial cable, and fiber-optic cable.
Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
Perform online inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
