About The Position

Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join their team at their world-class passenger railcar manufacturing facility in Lexington, NC. This role supports a broad range of electrical and mechanical assembly and installation activities in a dynamic, high energy production environment, building electrical control racks, wire harnesses, and other sub-assemblies for rail vehicles. The position involves working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, and other specifications to assemble and install components in passenger coaches, including roofs, cable harnesses, electrical racks, and piping assemblies. The role requires connecting wires, cutting wire to specified lengths, and disassembling, modifying, and reassembling components as needed. A key aspect of the role involves using fine motor skills for assembling small parts with excellent dexterity.

Requirements

  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Experience with electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive or electrical service industries.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly
  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of reading of blueprints, diagrams and various part list is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
  • Connect wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Cut wire to specified lengths and route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
  • Work from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or Electro-Mechanical subassemblies.
  • Frequently use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
