About The Position

Electro-Mechanic troubleshoots, repairs and maintains production machinery, electrical equipment and mechanical equipment. This includes controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems, printing presses, coating lines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, skid tumbler, band saw, ovens, incinerators, all ancillary equipment. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED), and four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute percent and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have completed the journeyman training requirement as required by the Company or similar training elsewhere.
  • Must be certified or able to become certified in CPR; basic first aid and fully trained in Lockout and Tagout requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required electrical maintenance and repairs on all equipment throughout the facility, office, and manufacturing areas
  • Install and repair electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machines and equipment. Do this by following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment
  • Replace faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, motors and positions sensing devices
  • Perform complex wiring assignments
  • Install power, light, and electronic and control circuits
  • Install electrical equipment with minimal instructions
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment by interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics drawings and related machinery operation
  • Leverage proactive, collaborative discussions with others (managers, mechanics, millwrights, machinists, and operators) to diagnose and resolve any issues.
  • Recommend any necessary repairs or improvements to equipment to the supervisor or manager
  • Program and troubleshoot multiple manufacturers PLC’s used within ICC facilities and production equipment with computers, I/O lists and program documents
  • Support Vision Expert inspection system on printing presses
  • Research and recommend improvements and upgrades in all electrical systems throughout the plant
  • Install new electrical equipment as required and permitted by law
  • Install conduits, wires, controls, etc. as required
  • Follow manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints using hand tools and test equipment to connect power supply wires and cables to machines and equipment
  • Design electrical system and draw ladder diagrams and schematics
  • Keep up to date on electrical codes and advise management as required
  • Perform any electrical Preventive Maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain all standard maintenance procedures with qualified log
  • Maintain spare parts inventory of all necessary electrical materials and equipment
  • Consult with customers and vendors on all of the above duties and responsibilities as needed
  • Be knowledgeable on all equipment such as pneumatic equipment, power transmission principles, and conveyor systems in the Litho department to have the ability to set up, adjust, repair and maintain all equipment within a proficient time frame
  • Complete thorough documentation of equipment issues and their resolutions
  • Perform work in a safe manner. Ensuring a safe environment for everyone
  • Follow company personnel and product safety requirements including standards such as those from SQF and internal GMPs
  • All other duties as assigned
