About The Position

Mister Sparky, an affiliate of Authority Brands, is hiring Electricians in the Cincinnati area to perform electrical repair and installation work for residential customers. The role involves installing, testing, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and respecting customers’ property. Electricians work with other departments to ensure service-work data is transferred properly and maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and a professional image. The company offers experienced Electricians the opportunity to earn up to $100,000 annually and is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 to qualifying candidates. A variety of flexible schedules are available. The position includes a service van, fuel card, and dispatching primarily from home, as well as benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO and personal days, parental leave, and a 401(k) with company match.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as an electrician in a residential service and maintenance operation.
High school diploma or GED required.
Basic math and reading comprehension skills required.
Knowledge of electrical field concepts, practices, best practices, and procedures, including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes, and Lighting Systems.
Appropriate trade tools required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
Solid communication and customer service skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, locate the cause of breakdowns, and correct problems.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components for hazards, defects, and needed adjustment or repair, ensuring code compliance.
Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment.
Place conduit in designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
Construct or fabricate parts and fasten boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets.
Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
Work closely with other departments to ensure proper transfer of service-work business data.
Inspect the work area for cleanliness after job completion and respect the customer’s property.
Maintain the company vehicle, keeping it clean and organized inside and out.
Maintain a professional image at all times.
