About The Position

Bongards Premium Cheese is looking for a dedicated, dynamic and experienced professional to serve as our overnight Electrician. This person would provide support to production lines in all areas, with an emphasis on electrical components and systems.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees in various departments and outside vendors
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement.
  • Ability to write routine reports such as work orders, preventative maintenance, etc.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, oral diagram, or a schedule form.
  • Must be willing to follow directions from management.
  • Ability to work as a team and interact in a professional and courteous manner with coworkers.
  • Must comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, Local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to employee and food safety.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be capable of climbing ladders at working at varied heights.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings and diagrams required to perform maintenance or install plant equipment.
  • Perform electrical repairs as required to plant and building equipment.
  • Perform preventative electrical repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and replace electrical components or equipment and inside control panels.
  • Assist in the installation and adjustment of new plant equipment.
  • Operate a variety of power, hand, and shop tools in a safe manner.
  • Perform duties as necessary to ensure that plant equipment operates continuously and effectively.
  • Notify lead or manager of relate problems as required.
  • Must participate in continuing schooling or education sponsored by the company.
  • Operate electrical test equipment.
  • Must have and understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, and motion control.
  • Must have an understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Must have knowledge of and follow OSHA safety procedures.
  • Must report all food safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement.
