About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Electrician is to disassemble, repair, assemble, and install all stationary and portable electrical equipment. Perform duties according to the National Electrical Code and be able to read and perform work from prints, schematics and/or instructions. The secondary responsibility of the Maintenance Electrician is to assist and work directly with the maintenance personnel when special needs arise. The Electrician will perform minor maintenance work which is incidental to the function of the Electrician’s job. Will also be required to maintain lift truck batteries. They may be called upon to help train and/or direct the work of the Electrician Apprentice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Four (4) years of experience directly related to electrical maintenance.
  • Experience in AC & DC drive controls including troubleshooting.
  • Must be a team worker, self-motivated, innovative; ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Wiring Installation — Conduit, wire descriptions, sizes capacities, AC & DC circuits, troubleshooting, switches, fuses, controls, and relays.
  • Motors — installation, repair, troubleshooting of commutators and armatures, and necessary repairs, brush installation.
  • Panels and Controls — Wiring of cabinets, relays, shunts and control equipment according to diagrams prepared by Engineering.
  • Lighting — Ballast, incandescent, fluorescent, vapor proof, explosion proof, installation according to engineering specifications, wiring replacement and maintenance and diagnose trouble.
  • Generators and Transformers — Install generators and transformers according to engineering specifications, wiring, repair, replacement, and maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for keeping the work area clean and returning parts and equipment to designated storage areas.
  • Complete forms and reports as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assist and work directly with the maintenance personnel when special needs arise.
  • Perform minor maintenance work which is incidental to the function of the Electrician’s job.
  • Maintain lift truck batteries.
  • Help train and/or direct the work of the Electrician Apprentice.
