About The Position

Skilled Electrician Needed for Leading Food Processing Plant - Join Us! Competitive Pay plus Generous Benefits. This role requires proficiency in working with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including installation, programming, testing, calibrating, and repairing damaged units. The electrician will perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, and possess knowledge of overall plant systems and process interactions. Responsibilities include calibration, repair, adjustment, and replacement of components, as well as diagnosing, repairing, and tuning burners for efficiency and safety. The role also involves installing and programming new instruments and control valves, coordinating with programmers, maintaining plant MCCs (Motor Control Centers), ensuring climate control systems are functional, and performing thermal scans on vital components. The electrician will diagnose malfunctioning systems, assist outside contractors, and maintain the proper function of Valteks. Troubleshooting PLC signal types (4 to 20 mA, 0 to 10vdc, TTL, AC/DC inputs/outputs) and complex high/low voltage AC/DC circuits is essential. Maintaining plant HMIs and understanding I/O addressing are also key. The position requires upholding high standards of ethics, integrity, data management, and safety compliance, including behavior-based safety observations and adherence to SQF 2000 principles. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7+ years working as an Industrial Electrician in a fast-paced facility environment that is reliant on 24/7 production.
  • Proficient ability to work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Proficient ability to troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Knowledgeable in overall plant systems and the interactions of processes.
  • Must demonstrate strong skills in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be able to effectively use Maintenance Management Software.
  • Must be able to creatively apply experience and common sense to a variety of situations, processes, and people.
  • Must be able to make technical decisions and support the staff on technical issues.
  • Possess the ability to manage several projects concurrently.
  • Be able to plan work, order parts, and coordinate downtime to complete work orders.
  • Be able to resolve issues which may include conflicts between employees, equipment malfunctions, and variations in operating conditions.
  • Troubleshooting of PLC signal types including 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 10vdc, transistor to transistor logic and AC/DC inputs and outputs.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex high voltage and low voltage AC/DC circuits.
  • Understanding of I/O addressing and how to locate in the facility.

  • Proactively manage safety by ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations and internal Company policies.
