Electrician – Night Shift

About The Position

Full time journeyman electrical support for site plants on a night shift EOEO (2-2-3) (12-hour schedule) performing electrical work to the highest level. This job will cover all aspects of an industrial electrical position including testing, troubleshooting and wiring methods to the industrial code book NFPA 70E.

Requirements

  • Journeyman license with the State of Michigan or BAT (Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training) Certificate required.
  • Demonstrated skills in the application of safe practices, procedures, electrical codes and standards that apply to the electrical discipline is required and the candidate must assure adherence to them according to company policy.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge in the use of electrical diagnostics tools such as oscilloscope, voltmeter, ammeter, etc.
  • Experience interpreting and utilizing electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Job knowledge in the following: PLCs, instrumentation, process control, AC and DC Drives, low voltage distribution equipment and associated plant utilities.
  • Ability to attend training and train others on Day or Night shifts

Responsibilities

  • Promote an Incident and Injury free work environment through demonstrated actions and interaction with other personnel.
  • Complete preventative and corrective repair of equipment.
  • Respond to call-ins after hours and on weekends on an as needed basis.
  • Some overtime may be anticipated to cover plant project activities and vacation.
  • Work in a team environment.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required to interface with plant and site personnel.
  • Participate in and support building and site initiatives including but not limited to: Continuous Improvement teams, LEAN Manufacturing, ISO- 9001 –Quality, ISO- 14001 –Environmental and OHSAS- 18001 –Safety
  • Calibrate, adjust, repair, disassemble, replace, and reassemble equipment utilizing a variety of hand tools, common shop machinery and electronic/electrical test equipment.
  • Participate in project work which may include- design, fabrication and installation of electrical equipment and associated programming.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in areas including fields such as hardware and software associated with PLC's, AC or DC drives, HMIs, and specialized process equipment utilizing in manufacturing.
  • Utilize diagnostic skills in day-to-day breakdown and repair situations.
  • Utilizing SAP to enter and close out work orders
