About The Position

This role will provide a full range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to: installation of electrical wiring systems and control systems for oilfield control and power systems manufactured at the Steffes facility. Occasional field visits may also be required for maintaining and repairing Steffes products that are in service in the field and/or to collect customer feedback for future projects. This job description outlines the general responsibilities and requirements for Electricians at Steffes, categorized by certification level in accordance with North Dakota State Electrical Board (NDSEB) standards. Electricians may progress through the Apprentice, Journeyman, and Master levels, each with defined scopes of work and responsibilities.

Requirements

Registered apprentice (not licensed to work independently).
Must be directly supervised by a licensed Journeyman or Master.
Cannot work independently.
Cannot supervise; must comply with 3:1 apprentice-to-journeyman ratio.
Not authorized for permit sign-off & inspections.
1+ years of experience.
Apprentice Electrician Status in the State of ND.
Walking, sitting, or standing to a significant degree.
Ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for some activities.
Visual acuity is required to inspect work completed.
Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
Demonstrate excellent customer service and display a positive attitude and behavior consistent with the Steffes Code of Conduct and Core Values.
Perform work in compliance with EHS training and identified procedures/standard work. Report any EHS incident or concern to your supervisor immediately. Cooperate and contribute to the overall success of the EHS program.
Participate in job-specific training. Complete work as indicated by standard work, processes, and/or procedures. If your work can’t be completed as required, notify your supervisor immediately for guidance.

Responsibilities

Always maintains a culture of safety in the workplace and follows Steffes safety procedures.
Builds, tests, and documents installations of both basic and advanced electrical and control systems.
Conduct work in accordance with relevant codes, customer specifications, and Steffes specifications.
Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems.
Participate in the continuous improvement of Steffes products and processes.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a collaborative manner with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
Helps the company meet its Strategic, Quality, and Safety objectives.
Other duties may be assigned.
Assists with basic wiring, installation, and material handling.
Supports but does not independently perform system termination & testing.
Must follow NDSEB safety/code rules under supervision.
