About The Position

This position is an industrial electrician responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment in the Melt Shop area of Big River Steel facility.

Requirements

• Demonstrated safety focus and willingness to proactively apply it in a team environment
• Quality and detail oriented with strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills
• Adaptability to accept changes in job duties and eagerness to learn and apply new knowledge
• Reliable team player with good communication skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and willing to put in extra hours when needed
• Previous experience with NFPA 70E practices
• Familiar with common electrical tools and measuring instruments
• Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
• Strong working knowledge of 480-volt 3 phase electrical distribution systems and motor control
• Basic PLC programing experience (Allen Bradley preferred)
• HS diploma or equivalent is required

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 5 years of work experience as an industrial electrician
• electrical degree or training

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety, Environmental, Quality requirements and “where applicable”ResponsibleSteel requirements are followed.
• Repair complex electrical equipment, including automated machines, controls, panels, relays, circuit breakers, communication systems, VFD drives
• Install electrical equipment with minimal instruction after general assignment
• Diagnose problems, replace, or repair defective equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic problems
• Work with production to help develop and maintain a highly productive Melt-Shop
