About The Position

Humber River Health is seeking an Electrician to join their Maintenance and Engineering team. This role involves maintaining electrical equipment, systems, and installations within the hospital, ensuring safe and proper working conditions. The position is full-time and located at the Church Site, with flexibility to travel between sites as needed. Requirements

  • Successfully completed Grade 12.
  • Extensive Experience in all aspects of institutional electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Ontario Electrician certificate.
  • Knowledge of electrical sections or public building and safety codes.
  • Ability to communicate with staff.
  • Lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls a variety of electrical materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb, balances, stoops, kneels and crouches to gain access to electrical wiring.
  • Exposed to electrical shocks and burns as well as falls from ladders or scaffolds.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required

Responsibilities

  • Keeps all operating electrical equipment in safe and proper working condition.
  • Maintains the electrical inspection book.
  • Recommends the ordering of electrical supplies.
  • Tests and repairs any electrical defect.
  • Installs and services new electric equipment.
  • Installs and repairs the nurse call system.
  • Repairs outside lighting and parking lot equipment.
  • Installs new services in renovation or building changes.
  • Maintain Fire Alarm System
  • Other duties as assigned
