About The Position

Kibali Gold Mine is seeking an Electrician to join its team. The role is responsible for installing and maintaining underground electrical equipment, supporting and advising site personnel, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards in accordance with sound engineering practices and equipment specifications. The position also supports Barrick's values, including integrity, accountability, partnership, and commitment to zero harm.

Requirements

• Electrical, Millwright, or Mechanician trade qualification.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and technical literature.
• Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team.
• Familiarity with mining Operations Technology, digital radio, and communication networks.
• Must be medically fit.
• Must hold a light vehicle driving license and be able to obtain a mine site light vehicle driving license.
• Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• High Voltage Switching Qualification.
• Certificate IV in Electrical Engineering Instrumentation.
• Senior First Aid.
• Training and experience with Sandvik drill equipment.
• Training and experience with Vent on Demand (VOD) control systems.

Responsibilities

• Comply fully with company safety policies and all site-based occupational health and safety requirements and standards.
• Service and install underground high-voltage and low-voltage reticulation and associated systems.
• Maintain and install substations and electrical switchgear associated with underground workings.
• Maintain and install electrical switchgear for secondary ventilation fans.
• Maintain, install, and repair electrical switchgear for underground dirty water pumps.
• Perform low-voltage maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment.
• Install and maintain communication systems, including Leaky Feeder and associated infrastructure throughout underground operations.
• Maintain and install central blasting systems.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly examinations of plant and equipment designated and controlled by the Electrical Foreman.
• Submit examination maintenance records using the provided checklists and logbooks.
• Report deficiencies or anomalies in plant or equipment to the immediate supervisor to support safe and efficient operations.
• Ensure the safety and training of employees within the relevant department's organizational structure.
• Follow planned maintenance schedules to maintain maximum efficiency of underground electrical systems.
• Ensure installations and maintenance meet site safe operating procedures, safe working practices, and Barrick standards.
