About The Position

Kraft Heinz Kendallville is seeking a skilled Electrician to join their team. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic equipment and control systems within the plant. The electrician will work to ensure optimal line efficiency and product quality by addressing corrective maintenance needs and performing preventative inspections. They will also participate in developing maintenance plans, implementing continuous improvements, and troubleshooting/modifying programmable controllers. Communication with other shifts and cross-functional collaboration are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Electrical training/degree and experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC’s and components
  • Knowledge of 240/480V systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot ladder logic and make edits as required.
  • Self-motivated and strong drive for results.
  • Use simple mathematics.
  • Lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to climb a ladder.
  • Able to work in areas that contain dust and starch particles.
  • Able to work in hot and humid conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing and/or food processing, quality standards, hygiene, work safety, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair all electrical/electronic equipment and control equipment associated with the building, production, and utilities.
  • Coordinate with production to address any corrective maintenance required on assigned equipment to ensure optimum line efficiency and product quality.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections on all production, building, and utilities equipment as assigned.
  • Participate in the development of detailed preventive maintenance plan.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement on equipment and system design.
  • Troubleshoot and modify programs on existing programmable controllers and write new programs for existing and new programmable computers.
  • Analyze equipment failures and recommend/implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate with maintenance personnel on other shifts, as necessary, to ensure coordination of maintenance efforts on assigned equipment.
  • Work cross functionally as a member of the operations team.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Leader.
