About The Position

The Electrician safely performs troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, repairs, and electrical installations in large commercial settings. The role performs preventive maintenance on on-site electrical equipment and completes commercial electrical installations in compliance with applicable codes and safety and security standards. The position reports work orders, scheduled jobs, and work progress to a foreperson.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Commercial electrician experience.
• At least one year of experience as an electrician; on-the-job training is provided.
• Valid, unexpired driver's license.
• Electrician's certification in the state, county, or city jurisdiction where the work will be performed.

Nice To Haves

• Strong preference for a trade school graduate.
• Three years of experience as an electrician preferred.
• Prior experience in industrial maintenance and troubleshooting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment on-site.
• Perform commercial electrical installations.
• Plan the layout and installation of electrical equipment, conduit, wiring, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
• Install electrical conduit, equipment, fixtures, and wiring in floors, walls, and ceilings.
• Install, inspect, and test electrical systems.
• Install panel boards, conduits, lay-in fixtures, wall packs, exit signs, light fixtures, disconnects, breakers, power distribution equipment, and power supply wiring.
• Use labels, job site maps, instruction manuals, and written instructions to perform duties in accordance with appropriate safety and security standards.
• Report work orders, scheduled jobs, and work progress to a foreperson.
• Ensure code compliance through proper installation of electrical components.
