About The Position

SJS Executives is seeking experienced Electricians for a possible upcoming contract in Montgomery and Tuskegee, Alabama supporting ongoing maintenance operations at two federal medical facilities. This position is contingent upon award. SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations.

Requirements

  • In accordance with federal regulations, possession of a valid Real ID is a requirement for this position.
  • Minimum of 3 years of commercial, institutional, industrial, or healthcare electrical experience.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution systems, wiring, panels, circuits, and electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems and power distribution.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems using industry-standard testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of electrical calculations including voltage, current, resistance, power factor, and voltage drop.
  • Familiarity with electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work on ladders, at elevated heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in hot environments and around energized equipment, machinery, dust, chemicals, oils, fumes, and other occupational hazards.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Ability to wear an OSHA-approved respirator when required and successfully complete required fit testing.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe boots, eye protection, hearing protection, and approved face protection.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable federal safety regulations and workplace policies.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, and modify electrical systems, wiring, circuits, and associated equipment within federal facilities.
  • Install secondary power distribution systems, electrical panels, conduits, cable trays, and branch circuits.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on industrial multiphase electrical systems.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems, intrusion alarm systems, emergency warning systems, lightning protection systems, and thermocouple sensors.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults, equipment failures, and hard-to-locate electrical problems.
  • Determine proper placement and installation of distribution panels, junction boxes, fittings, and electrical connections.
  • Perform electrical testing using signal generators, signal tracers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, ohmmeters, meggers, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Calculate electrical values including voltage, voltage drop, current flow, resistance, capacitance, inductance, and power factor to support installations and repairs.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain a safe work environment while following all federal safety regulations and facility procedures.
