Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or comparable experience with trade school or training (for Electrician II)
  • Seven (7) years of experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment or machinery, or comparable experience with trade school or training (for Electrician III)
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints and analytical diagnosis of problems
  • Ability to program Programmable Logic Controllers using basic and ladder logic (for Electrician II)
  • Ability to make changes to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using advanced ladder logic, read/write wiring diagrams, schematics and blueprints, and analytical diagnosis of problems (for Electrician III)
  • Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges
  • Advanced knowledge of industrial controls and instrumentation
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic problems including knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance (for Electrician II)
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot complex problems (for Electrician III)
  • Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and algebra
  • Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
  • Familiar with and ability to convert units (imperial to SI, etc.)
  • Must have an understanding of microprocessor hardware and software configurations and be able to perform basic analog and digital circuit design (for Electrician II)
  • Must have an understanding of microprocessor hardware and software configurations and be able to perform complex analog and digital circuit design (for Electrician III)
  • Prior experience using software for Preventive Maintenance (PM) and work orders, SAP preferred
  • Know how to use Multi-meter, scope, basic hand tools, and portable power tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck (PIT) license
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
  • Understanding of electrical laws and principals (KVL, Ohm’s Law, Power Law, etc.) (for Electrician III)
  • Ability to originate instruction documents that can be used by other technicians to perform preventive maintenance or verify electrical system operation (for Electrician III)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, install, and repair equipment, electrical systems and facility electrical systems.
  • Utilize electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and temperature and pressure gauges
  • Maintain and utilize maintenance systems for work orders, breakdown reporting and track machine modifications.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures. Replace damages or broken components
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment
