Requirements

  • Red Seal Industrial Electrician certification is required
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial, manufacturing, food/feed, or production environment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Experience working with motors, controls, PLCs, sensors, drives, conveyors, and automated equipment
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, equipment reliability, and safe work procedures
  • Ability to diagnose electrical faults quickly and complete repairs to minimize production downtime
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace health and safety standards
  • Ability to operate under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate and deal with various stakeholders with tact and diplomacy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors
  • Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to support other maintenance functions as required
  • Availability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or on-call coverage as needed

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Emergency repairs
  • Collaborate with other departments and third-party agencies and technicians
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and procedures, addressing hazards proactively
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and installations following schedules and checklists
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and repair defects or malfunctions, including emergency and corrective repairs
  • Execute planned and complex maintenance tasks, sometimes supervising third-party technicians
  • Order spare parts, materials, or custom-made components as needed for maintenance or repairs
  • Carry out modifications, overhaul, and propose technical improvements based on expertise
  • Collaborate with management on quality and technical issues, providing solutions to avoid recurring problems
  • Log all maintenance activities in maintenance management systems to ensure proper records and equipment history
