Requirements

Red Seal Industrial Electrician certification is required
Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in an industrial, manufacturing, food/feed, or production environment
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Experience working with motors, controls, PLCs, sensors, drives, conveyors, and automated equipment
Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices, equipment reliability, and safe work procedures
Ability to diagnose electrical faults quickly and complete repairs to minimize production downtime
Strong understanding of electrical codes, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace health and safety standards
Ability to operate under pressure with constantly changing priorities and deadlines
Ability to communicate and deal with various stakeholders with tact and diplomacy
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors
Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to support other maintenance functions as required
Availability to work shifts, overtime, weekends, or on-call coverage as needed

Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems
Preventive maintenance
Emergency repairs
Collaborate with other departments and third-party agencies and technicians
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and procedures, addressing hazards proactively
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and installations following schedules and checklists
Identify, troubleshoot, and repair defects or malfunctions, including emergency and corrective repairs
Execute planned and complex maintenance tasks, sometimes supervising third-party technicians
Order spare parts, materials, or custom-made components as needed for maintenance or repairs
Carry out modifications, overhaul, and propose technical improvements based on expertise
Collaborate with management on quality and technical issues, providing solutions to avoid recurring problems
Log all maintenance activities in maintenance management systems to ensure proper records and equipment history
