About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of electrical maintenance and repair tasks in accordance with established safety regulations and building codes. The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components, including lighting, power, and control systems. This role requires the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical systems within the district's facilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in electrical trades or equivalent.
  • Valid Nevada State Driver's License.
  • Journeyman Electrician license issued by the State of Nevada.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed Journeyman Electrician.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory, National Electrical Code (NEC), and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in the use of electrical testing equipment and tools.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Experience in a school district or similar public sector environment.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and district policies.
  • Respond to emergency electrical situations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance staff and personnel from other departments.
