About The Position

An Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid electrician license or certification as required by state or local regulations.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
  • Valid driver's license may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an electrician apprenticeship or vocational training program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and control systems.
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, defects, and repair needs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems using testing devices and tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Install and connect electrical panels, transformers, generators, and other electrical components.
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and service calls.
  • Test electrical systems to verify proper operation and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections completed.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other trades on construction and renovation projects.
