About The Position

Allied Printing Services Inc. is a family-ran, full-service commercial and financial printer that’s been leading the industry since 1949. With advanced sheetfed, web, large format, digital press capabilities — plus New England’s largest bindery/finishing operation — we’re proud of our history and excited about our future. Now, we’re looking for a skilled Electrician to join our growing team. Energize our Operations and Keep Printing Running. The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment that support print production, finishing, and facility operations. This role ensures presses, bindery equipment, and plant systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Working closely with maintenance and production teams, the Electrician plays a key role in keeping operations running smoothly while supporting continuous improvement, safety compliance, and long-term reliability in a fast-paced printing manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Electrical License required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical school or electrician certification preferred.
  • 1-5 years experienced printing or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, drives, control circuits, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints and technical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Solid understanding of safety practices and electrical codes.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair on presses, bindery equipment, and facility machinery.
  • Maintain, install, and repair electrical components such as motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, switches, and control systems.
  • Conduct routine electrical and mechanical preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Assist with machine setup, calibration, and system adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve equipment issues quickly.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Support facility electrical needs, including lighting, circuitry, and power distribution.
