About The Position

The Electrician position at Empire Packing involves adhering to Federal inspection regulations, safely operating equipment for operational testing, and complying with all Company, Local, State, and Federal Safety regulations, rules, and practices. The role requires providing a safe work environment for all Associates, adhering to health requirements, and performing additional duties as assigned to meet demands of daily production scheduling. This includes following plant sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and orderly work environment throughout the Plant, and being responsible for sanitation of work areas and monitoring cleanliness. The Electrician must follow and enforce Safety rules, housekeeping, proper operation of equipment, proper safety equipment usage, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). They must know job requirements for all positions on assigned production lines and complete required daily paperwork. The role demands a minimum of 3 years of industrial/commercial electrical experience, proficiency with high-speed production lines, and expertise in block diagrams, troubleshooting, layout capabilities, rigid bending new runs, transformers, diagnostic ability, and buckets. The Electrician must be well versed in reading, interpreting, correcting, and drawing schematics, and experienced in using Arc Flash appropriate safety equipment and passing certifications. The work environment is characterized by varying temperatures (34-50 degrees Fahrenheit), a wet and cold environment, and constant noise due to machinery and refrigeration fans.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience with an industrial/commercial electrical background working with high-speed production line(s).
Knowledge of block diagrams and troubleshoots, layout capabilities, rigid bending new runs, transformers, diagnostic ability, buckets.
Well versed in reading, interpreting, correcting, and drawing schematics.
Experienced in the use of all Arc Flash appropriate safety equipment and pass certifications.
Able to work independently on the ground, on floors, on ladders, on rooftops, etc.
Detail oriented and willing to work in a team concept.
Able to work with all voltages up to 600 volts.
Able to work hot/live when needed in wet environments.
Able to stand 100% of shift.
Able to properly lift and carry consistently a minimum of 50lbs.
Able to use hands 90% of shift.
Requires infrequent overhead and over the shoulder lifting of containers and baskets; and motor skills to meet and maintain speed expected by normal crew output.
Bending, twisting, and walking consistently throughout the duration of shift.
Mentally alert to perform all assigned work tasks in a manner that assures employees’ personal safety and provides a safe work environment for all employees.
Mathematical skills to read scales/codes/work orders.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must attend work consistently.
Ability to make quick and decisive decisions; good judgement and common sense required.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to locate and generate information.
Display strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Follow and enforce Safety rules, housekeeping, and proper operation of equipment.
Follow and monitor proper safety equipment usage and safety practices.
Follow and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and procedures.
Must know job requirements for all positions on assigned production line(s).
Complete required daily paperwork.
