Electrician - Crush/Convey
About The Position
Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a skilled Electrician for its Morenci operations, an open-pit copper mining complex. This role involves the removal, repair, and installation of electrical components, along with basic to intermediate troubleshooting. The position requires performing safe routine and non-routine repairs and construction, as well as preventive maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment such as substations, power distribution systems, switchgear, motors, motor controls, process controls, and pneumatic equipment. The electrician will also assist with troubleshooting and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Completion of an approved certified electronics, electrical and/or instrumentation program or minimum of two (2) years of experience or a combination of education and experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance
- Basic experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment
- Valid state driver's license
- Must have minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list (or be able to obtain them within 90 days of hire date)
- Able to perform the essential functions of the job at the time of the job offer with or without reasonable accommodations
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude.
- The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
- Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
