About The Position

The Electrician is responsible for, but not limited to, the day-to-day maintenance and support of the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) and event requests, including 120–480-volt power distribution, shop repairs, motor control, lighting systems, and energy conservation. The Electrician is required to respond to 12kv outage and must be able to diagnose and take corrective action to restore power.

Requirements

Must be able to perform journeyman level work.
Must provide own hand tools to perform required functions.
Ability to diagnose and take corrective action to restore power during 12kv outages.
Regularly required to sit, stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
Frequently use a keyboard/computer/tablet screen for extended periods of time.
Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

Perform journeyman level electrical repair and maintenance of power distribution systems, including preventative maintenance.
Repair motor control systems.
Maintain lighting and lighting systems.
Manage energy usage and conservation.
Perform electrical installation of circuits for offices, work areas, and mechanical equipment rooms.
Install power for contracted events.
Assist food services in the set-up of electrical equipment for shows and seminars.
Provide support to other crafts as needed.
Respond to 12kv outages and diagnose/corrective action to restore power.
