About The Position

Tessera is seeking an experienced and detailed Electrician with a positive attitude. This role involves inspecting, operating, and testing industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions. The electrician will be responsible for replacing lamps and ballasts, inspecting and maintaining grounding and lightning protection systems, and cleaning lighting fixtures. They will also perform minor electrical installations and repairs, such as outlet and circuit breaker replacements, and routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The position requires planning and laying out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams. The electrician will utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to record service and repair activities, maintain and operate lift equipment, and work from heights, ladders, and man lifts. Proficiency with NFPA 70 and 70E, and compliance with ANSI C2 are necessary. The role also requires the ability to drive up to a 1-ton pickup or bucket truck with a trailer and utilize digital inspection tools like infrared thermal imaging. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required, and wiring and conduit may need to be removed and replaced.

Requirements

Minimum of three (3) years of electrical experience required.
Alaska certificate of fitness required.
Must be able to work in a variety of different environments, including inclement weather and high man lifts.
Must be able to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
Must be able to and willing to work outside of normal work hours as in back shift and weekends, with notice.
A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Nice To Haves

State of Alaska electrical license preferred (Journeyman level license preferred).
State of Alaska electrical administrator license preferred.
First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect, operate, and test industrial lighting equipment to diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions.

Clean lighting fixtures, replace receptacles, various switches, and other connections, and perform miscellaneous re-lamping repairs.
Perform minor electrical installations and repairs, including outlet repair and/or replacement; circuit breaker(s), various sensors, and ground fault interruptions.
Perform routine electrical maintenance to ensure lighting systems operate efficiently in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Plan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
Utilize mobile maintenance and inspection devices to maintain a record of all service and repair activities.
Maintain and operate all lift equipment necessary to service lights.
Work from heights, ladders, and man lifts.
Distinguish between different wire colors.
Drive up to a 1-ton pickup or bucket truck with trailer.
Utilize digital inspection tools such as infrared thermal imaging.
Wear PPE as required.
Remove and replace wiring and conduit as required.
Be proficient with NFPA 70 and 70E and comply with ANSI C2.
