About The Position

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing a variety of electrical systems and components in County-owned properties. This role involves working on new construction and remodels of County buildings, ensuring all work complies with local electrical and safety codes and stays within budget. The position also includes maintaining fire protection systems, providing on-call emergency response, and managing building automation systems. Additionally, responsibilities include snow removal, often after hours, weekends, and holidays, and maintaining snow removal equipment to ensure public safety. An on-call rotation is required.

Requirements

Minimum three years of work experience.
Must not have engaged in illicit drug use, excluding marijuana, within the past three years.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Five years of experience
Possession of a Journeyman Electrician License - Colorado
May be required to obtain a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License during employment.
May be required to possess a fork lift certification.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including new construction and remodel of County buildings.
Install, maintain, and repair switch gear, generators, transformers, lighting systems, UPS, motors and controls, VFDs, A/C units, fuel pumps, and building automation systems.
Ensure work is done in compliance with local electrical and safety codes and within budget.
Maintain fire protection system, including control panels, smoke detectors, sprinklers, won doors, audio/visual, and door holders.
Follow National Electrical Code and National Fire Protection Association codes.
Provide emergency, on-call response to situations involving floods, odors, lighting, HVAC, fire protection, and security.
Assess emergencies and respond accordingly, calling appropriate personnel if necessary.
Maintain building automation systems, including programming and testing for the needs of County employees and public safety.
Remove snow in a timely manner, often after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain snow removal equipment.
Ensure public safety.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
