About The Position
This position is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical functions within the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. The role involves working with various voltage levels and maintaining critical systems such as phone, fire alarm, fiber optics, and security systems.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience with electrical systems.
Nice To Haves
- Electrician journeyman experience preferred or licensure
- Ten or more years of experience with electrical systems is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs, maintains, and modifies all lighting and power circuits, fixtures, controls, motors, pumps, and equipment operated from all voltage levels.
- Performs electrical inspections for preventative maintenance.
- Determines the type and size of wire circuits, fixtures, and boxes, and the proper voltage and overload protection necessary.
- Lubricates and maintains electrical motors, switch gear, and related equipment.
- Maintains phone systems, fire alarm systems, fiber optics, and security systems.
- Orders supplies or informs the facilities manager of needed materials.
