About The Position

The H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and hard-working electrician for its Southern Divisions. The electrician installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. The role involves work at multiple locations and requires driving between locations to complete responsibilities.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school in a relevant electrical field, or six months of related electrical experience and/or training.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules and operating, maintenance, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
• Knowledge of database software, internet software, and order processing systems.
• Technical electrical skills and learning agility.
• Problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including movement and lifting as relevant to the job.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related electrical experience and/or training.
• Experience in manufacturing plants, especially asphalt or concrete plants.
• Experience in surface mining.
• Experience with heavy civil and/or road construction.
• OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work according to OSHA/MSHA and H&K safety policies.
• Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
• Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus, including transformers, motors, electronic components, and lighting fixtures.
• Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunctions with other maintenance workers to diagnose problems.
• Replace faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
• Plan wiring layouts and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus.
• Drive between locations to complete responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
