Requirements

  • Must be knowledgeable of national and local electrical codes
  • Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances needed for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits, related fixtures, and hardware.
  • Active state or local electrician licensure (Journeyman or Master Electrician) as required for this position.
  • Follow maintenance instructions, schedules and inspection of work orders and other job assignments.
  • Perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions, and complete repairs when required.
  • Must have knowledge of the composition, operation, and installation of a variety of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
  • Plan, layout, and complete the installation, modification, and repair of various electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
  • Interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Must be skilled in the use of a wide variety of test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
  • Maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, layouts, and specifications to plan and assign work effectively.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Perform calculations related to electrical loads, wiring requirements, and system performance.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
