About The Position

The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing a variety of electrical systems and components in County-owned properties. This role involves working on new construction and remodels of County buildings, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety codes, and maintaining fire protection systems. The position also requires on-call response for emergencies and snow removal duties.

Requirements

Minimum three years of work experience.
Journeyman Electrician License - Colorado.

Five years of experience
May be required to obtain a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License during employment.
May be required to possess a fork lift certification.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including new construction and remodel of County buildings.
Install, maintain, and repair switch gear, generators, transformers, lighting systems, UPS, motors and controls, VFD's, A/C units, fuel pumps, and building automation systems.
Ensure work is done in compliance with local electrical and safety codes and within budget.
Maintain fire protection system, including control panels, smoke detectors, sprinklers, won doors, audio/visual, and door holders.
Follow National Electrical Code and National Fire Protection Association codes.
Provide emergency, on-call response to situations involving floods, odors, lighting, HVAC, fire protection, and security.
Assess emergencies and respond accordingly, calling appropriate personnel if necessary.
Maintain building automation systems, including programming and testing for the needs of County employees and public safety.
Remove snow in a timely manner, often after hours, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain snow removal equipment.
Ensure public safety.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
