About The Position

In Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers. The Mission Capability Verification Center within Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities is searching for qualified Electrician to support program test operations with our team at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM. This position is an onsite role at WSMR located in White Sands, NM. Test events may occur over weekends or holidays and may require extended hours. The selected candidate will be involved in all types of support of the electrical industry, mission activity, and testing support. Electrical license and thorough knowledge and experience is desired. Primary tasks will include maintenance on building electrical systems and connections to equipment and systems requiring electrical energy. Tasks can vary from replacing ballasts, installing new or relocating power drops, and performing calculations for connections to systems and equipment. Voltages range from low voltage up to 4160VAC. In addition, support would be to support multiple teams and programs locally on WSMR and multiple testing locations throughout the United States. You will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams while supporting multiple projects to achieve timely execution and completion of established goals, as well as support general facility maintenance. You will also work in an engineering environment to support and facilitate testing of engineering hardware in accordance with customer and internal requirements and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Electrical License
  • Experience working across different electrical domains and disciplines
  • Experience in collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve common goals
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in real time
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class “A”
  • Experience with medium voltage generators
  • Certifications/Qualifications within a supporting trade (i.e, Electrical, HVAC, Automotive)
  • Ability to independently prioritize work in alignment with schedule and budget

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical knowledge and expertise for connections, builds and repairs
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks
  • 50% travel is required to support assigned systems. Travel is both within WSMR and to other US locations, with the possibility of global support.
  • Provide support in a field-testing environment
  • Logistics for site support/movement coordinator
  • Assist with electrical setup and inspection
  • General facility maintenance
  • Support to MCVC as needed outside of primary duties
